Description: screenshot of Tumblr with two posts. One describes how Sherlock Holmes would figure out you’re trans before you even do. The second describes how Hercule Poirot would figure out you’re trans after initially suspecting you of murder and then clearing you’re name. Then he gives you a kissy kiss.

Monk knew all along, just too anxious to tell you! He’s very relieved you finally figured it out.

Inspector Gadget flying down the street and crashes into you, sending you both tumbling into an open-air clothes market. You emerge in a gender-bent outfit and he says “That suits you! No need to thank me!” as he flies off. Penny and Brain look on in confusion, glance down at a computer, then give you a thumbs up.

Imagining Poirot teaching a trans man how to trim their mustache brings a smile to my face.

Isn’t he written by a British author? Haha. Mais c’est bien quand même, c’est vrai qu’il est belge dans le texte.

There were several other good posts in the thread but I cropped them out because I hate long screenshots.

Also, House was an ass in his trans episode, as were the ‘kids’ parents.

I don’t know the episode, but when is House not an ass? Him signing you up for a surgery that you haven’t even had time to consider and consent to because he thinks he knows best is not kind. And if you do balk, he’d belittle you.

Then I’m glad I don’t remember that episode.

I remember it as something with the patient’s dad sleeping with her and then he freaks out when he finds out that she has XY chromosomes. But that doesn’t sound right?

Yes, that did happen. She was supposedly a teen supermodel who happened to have androgen insensitivity and XY chromosomes.

She wasn’t really trans, though. She was assigned female at birth, lived as a woman, and as far as we know from the episode’s story, she kept living as a woman. Trans-adjacent, but not exactly the same thing.

I saw that episode as a 17 year old who had not yet gotten my period from a family of women who got it like clockwork before their twelfth birthdays. I freaked out because I knew that that had to be my issue, and I felt really awkward about telling my dad.

Gee, it would have been nice if it had occurred to me then, that the big problem most cis people would have with finding that out would not be an awkward conversation. But nope, that took over a decade.

There’s also one where the child is intersex and collapses during their basketball game.

Inspector Clueseau figures it out because after he sees your large train collection in your room, he decides you are 3 trains in disguise, but you misheard him.

…and then when you look confused [Holmes] is like “ah… had you not arrived at that conclusion yet?” and wafts away… leaving you in a gender crisis

Of course, Holmes knew perfectly well you hadn’t figured it out yet – that was the most obvious deduction of all. He deliberately broke the news to you for his own amusement.

Jessica Fletcher could give you a devastating summary of all the overwhelming evidence you’re trans, except she’s completely aware of the prime directive—she has a magnificent grasp of gender theory, having done her research for her novel Murder in Pink, Blue, and White. So she gives you a hug and puts you in touch with her dear nonbinary nibling and says how you two would get along famously.
