I must be the fun police here, because all I see here is a desire to hurt people that keep companies from putting me in harm’s way.

Yeah after knowing in great detail what industrial equipment can do to soft squishy people, I’m thinking this “fun police” thing is a corporate psy-op to push for further deregulation.

Because safety (and fines for blatantly violating it) costs money, you guys. :(

OSHA are the good guys, they are who you can call when shit gets dangerous and the bosses don’t care.

Damn, people need to lighten up here, OP posts an obvious joke and half of the comments are just “mUh iNdUsTrIaL SaFeTy”

Yeah anyone who can do this IRL understands the danger of doing this IRL. No one who has a forklift operator license is so stupid as to not get what those machines can do.

And if anyone thinks safety people never hamstring operations over silly ideas of risk, or turn into little dictators feeding their egos, think again.

I think of them as an extension of HR. Their purpose is to protect companies.

Some of their more asinine findings are merely efforts to show they’re being productive; companies expect returns in all things.

lemmy in general isn’t that great when it comes to memes, fun, etc

everyone’s too focused on ideology or whatever

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to be horrified at things like OSHA going away with the current state of the U.S. federal govt.

I remember seeing a video where somebody ran full speed into raised forks. They did NOT get up quickly. Imagine if the force was coming from the truck itself. It’d likely kill you

me when I want to drive the elderly people electric carts at my work but I can’t because they don’t have seatbelts :((

actually though it’s such a dumb rule, instead of simply driving them from the parking lot back inside I have to pick it up which is heavy AF and slowly waddle my way back bobbing and weaving through 2 lanes of active traffic (depending on business) while making sure I don’t run into someone, all while tensing my muscles which makes my back hurt like hell after 2 or 3 because you can’t pick them up without using your back

This feels like a labour law violation, but i assume you are american so your probably both SOL and going to have to pay out of pocket for the inevitable medical bills to fix your back.

Are the forks lined up with her legs? The weird perspective change in the last frame makes it incredibly unclear
