Noita is really interesting, but I feel like the base game’s balance is janky. You can play really well and just get utterly fucked on wands. They have this amazingly nuanced magic system but it feels like you rarely get the chance to harness it or experiment and death is very easy.
Don’t get me wrong, I highly recommend it if you like side scrolling rogue-lites. Plus the game’s a LOT bigger than it first appears.
After playing for hundreds of hours, I decided that being fucked so often and so arbitrarily is the secret sauce that makes god-runs the fantastic dopamine rush that they are. Eventually, you attain equanimity with death; only then are you ready to ascend.
I played a lot and once had a really good run and got really far. After that I didn’t want to play any more because it felt it would take too long to ever get beyond that run.
Some kind of checkpoint from which you could start when you die would probably work better for me.
If you don’t like something, look for mods. The modding community is amazing.
Fear and Hunger man… that game is like a playable version of Berserk as a random person, rather than Guts.
Finland only exports 2 kinds of games; Pain and torment. But of all of these, the most daring, and I mean DARING, is fear and hunger.
Hakita is either very ok or not ok at all.
I mean look at his youtube channel: https://m.youtube.com/@Hakita/videos
Kinda blowing past the Remedy Games catalog but glad somebody else has finally noticed
No, we’re not ok
Living next to Russia does have that effect.
Gets rated as the happiest country for yet another consecutive year.
Why! What am I missing!? Who here is happy?!!
We’re happier than other countries on average. Idk how people don’t get how that ranking works

One of my favorite comments I’ve seen was last time one of these surveys were posted and a Finn responded “It’s not that we’re happier than everyone else, it’s just that the world is going to hell and we were already used to it”.
Maybe we’re doing “fake it before you make it” for the ratings
Or we’re just generally content with life, which makes for a good average rating
I always assumed the saddest ones killed themselves, so the average goes up.
Yeah but it lacks the joke factor.
Legends all of them
They’re Finnished.
Ahh yes Noita, the setting-myself-on-fire simulator.
I know 1 of these.
No, they’re finished
When your neighbor is Russia, you get kinda crazy.
Noita is not shit. It’s an awesome game, you guys are just jealous because I beat the tutorial boss before you
There’s a tutorial?
I guess too many people on steam joked about the final boss being a tutorial boss. I am sorry that I have confused you
All of them are amazing gifts to the world
Given that selection, they seem more than okay
