Alright alright, I get the bandwagon hate for Elon. But think of it this way. ID verification would reduce bots and malicious accounts that are used for “grass roots” advertising or to swing political elections

No, it would only reduce the bots on one side of the political spectrum.
Elon’s own bots won’t get banned.
Sure but that’s his problem not mine. I don’t care if there are bots on Twitter. I do care about my privacy though. No way I would trust his company with that information.
Nothing is going to stop my countrymen from being idiots. Whether it’s union busting secret agents in the work force, Hearst’s political megaphone, or Russia’s twitter bots, people will remain open to the idea of voting against their own interests. Does no good to punish the diligent and responsible.
