A tankie is an authoritarian communist, the kind of folks who play apologist for the Soviet and Chinese regimes running over protesters with tanks. Hence the name.

Well, a lot of us here would put it more along the lines of “Corporations need to be run by workers, not investors”, but I think you’re pretty safe from tankieism with that view.
