My wife loves these. I’d never had one before I met her, and I never will again now that I have. I’ve never eaten something so bland, yet so sickly sweet, and my sister and I used to eat bowls of straight sugar when our parents weren’t around.

Those are eh; I’m not a fan of the frosting. Show me some Susan cookies, though, and you bet I’ll put out.

  • Too guilty pleasure, I don’t ever crave them, I don’t like it when I down a pack, but when I start I simply cannot and will not stop, I do not have the will to stop eating them all and I do not know why

My dad is the only person I know who hates them, but that’s only because they remind him of working at Walmart, which was hands down the weirdest, culty-est work experience he ever had.

Edit: I meant this to be a top level comment, but enjoy my non sequitur, I guess

This is the most beautiful thing I have ever read.

Every Lemmy user, at one point in their life, wonders to themselves, “Will this be my magnum opus? What if I’ve already done my best? Do I have no room to grow as a commentor?”

You, my good sir, have reached this point. I don’t mean that in a bad way, no, far from it. This is the best thing you have ever written, not because you are a bad writer, but because it simply outclasses everything in existence. 1984? Rubbish. Fahrenheit 451? Who the hell cares? The Odyssey? Complete shit.

      But this…

This comment is an absolute masterpiece. Simply wonderful. You are a God among men. I salute you for your creative prowess, and I hope that my comments may one day be able to reach one-tenth of this one’s timelessness.

      100/10, would read again

It makes no sense. Sugar? good, cookie? good, sugar cookie? disgusting insult to its name and whomever has the misfortune of eating one.

Comments like these are why downvotes are necessary.

For one thing, your implication that all sugar cookies share the sins of this specific kind of sugar cookie?

      Disgusting. Bigoted. You’re cancelled.

You can freeze the dough. It was a very economical way of satisfying a sweet tooth, especially if you have an air fryer.

  • I swear these cookies are the most divisive cookies ever. I haven’t met or seen people have anything but a strong opinion one way or the other.

I’m team “love them but think they are disgusting so I will never buy them, watch out if I have access though”

Controversial opinion… Sugar cookies suck, and oatmeal rasin / snickerdoodle are tied first depending on type of snickerdoodle (chewy or crunchy), and if there is milk to dip them.

Only if the raisins are treated with great care. Otherwise, they’re bitter, sour or tough as heck, and the cookie is better just as Oat.

Oat Cookies are underrated, and you 100% know they’re home made.

Add a touch of Cinnamon and you blow some people’s minds
