The mistake that everyone keeps making is assuming that when they say “traditional family” they mean the “husband, wife, and 2.5 kids” nuclear family. That’s not what they want. They are looking at an older tradition. They want slaves and concubines back.

They want slaves and concubines back.

IE an actual traditional family, as very well defined in the Old Testament / Tanakh.

When you get to the New Testament, you end up with the uberconservative push for making divorce illegal citing Jesus himself.

      Matthew 19:3-9

3 And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful to divorce one 's wife for any cause?”

4 He answered, "Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female,

5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?

6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."

7 They said to him, “Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?”

8 He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

9 And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

Notice how the presumption here is that only a man can divorce his wife, not the other way around.

The rule of Moses as understood by the Pharisee is that a man can serve a woman divorce papers, and that’s that.

What they can all agree on is women are second class citizens and should be subordinate to men.

Paul is quite famous for not permitting women to speak:

      1 Corinthians 14:34

the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says.

After my mom divorced my dad, we moved in with her parents because we had no money. The condition was that we had to start going to their extreme, King James Bible is the literal word of god, church. They preached this lesson a lot and it really messed my mom up. Luckily around the time I was 12, and already an atheist, we stopped going.

I come from a similar religious background, though my parents very obviously hate each other, never divorced, both constantly trying to get a middle school aged me to take their sides in arguments, traingulating everything, always, all the time, later escalating to trying to force various mental health condition diagnoses on each other and myself via quack doctors and institutions with dubious at best qualifications and track records.

I stopped talking to my family years ago, but if my ability to search through public records is accurate, it looka like my brother, his schizophrenic former FLDS cult member girlfriend and my mom rent and live in a two bed house in a suburb, and my dad lives in a trailerhome 60 miles away out in the sticks.

I’m sorry, I hope the PTSD hasn’t screwed you up too bad. It’s definitely one of the reasons for my mental health issues. I went to a Church of Christ. This is the only name allowed for a church in this sect, because Jesus said build the church in my name in the king James version. So anyone who calls a church anything else is obviously going to hell.

They take the book that’s been translated again and again and again, with books added and removed, and say it is the literal word of god because all the translators received divine inspiration. It would be a silly joke if they hadn’t hurt so many people. Almost all my family is dead now. What sect were you in?

The mistake that everyone makes is thinking that what they say, and where they go on Sunday has anything to do with how they feel and how they vote. They vote in a self serving and short sighted way. Their religion is irrelevant to who they actually are.

It’s weird how one can be such an incel yet also a philanderer, but then again, the fact that some are employees suggests a bit of a power dynamic abuse. If an incel rapes someone, they’re still an “involuntary celerate”

People use the word incel to the point of irrelevance. If you’re having sex you’re not involuntarily celibate.

Folks online were calling Henry Cavill an incel a while back. If these guys were celibate it would be by choice. If you’re trying to criticize them in other ways, why not use the right words?

    • You could be the most vile, gross, Jabba the hut looking incel out there, but if you’re a billionaire you can have a harem of gorgeous women who will let you Fuck and imepregnate them just because they know they’ll have money and be taken care of for life. I doubt any woman actually is attracted to him, they just want to be set up for life

I chuckle every time I am reminded that he named one of his kids Sideræl. In norwegian that would be a slang for Side-junk or side-slop.

    Side = side
Ræl = “junk,” “trash,” “rubbish,” or “worthless stuff.” It is an informal, somewhat dismissive term used to describe things that are of low quality, broken, or generally useless.

Elon can consider himself proper American now that he thinks Æ can be used as substitute for A, E, or a combination of the two. Same as you sometimes see shitheads use Ø instead of O.

To those of us who use those letters daily, it’s just jarring, as it’s a completely different letter with a different sound. It would be like writing Karspleesh and expect the spelling to carry the same pronunciation.

True, that’s an internationally recognized translation of those letters. Partially to make it easier for the swedes who use gibberish letters instead of the superior Æ Ø Å, I’m sure you can agree.
But the opposite isn’t valid in any language. You don’t know anyone who drive across Størebæltsbrøen to get to Ødense, I hope?

I only have one data point because I’ve only ever personally met one millionaire, and he definitely wasn’t the type for introspection.

I think he had three wives as well, none of them he was currently married to. He cheated on a second wife with his secretary who became his third fir a bit. It must be something to do with the money, at a certain point you just think you can do whatever you want and alienate everyone around you. He was certainly a prick.
