I know man. I’m nearly 40. At 20 I would have never guessed I could be motivated to do things beyond my immediate needs and wants. I honestly thought it was a character flaw that I was stuck with. Not that I’m perfect now, but the progress I’ve made is eeally a testament to how much I’ve grown up.

See how easy that was? The fact that so many people got up in arms immediately, yet provided no evidence suggests to me that people are overreacting and that there isn’t really any evidence. So now I’m going to carry that opinion forward.

My original post just said “can you send me a link?” and I thought to myself, “someone’s just going to tell me I’m arguing in bad faith”, so I immediately edited my comment to add context, ie “I don’t have Twitter and her account shows nothing to me. I read her blurb last year and it seemed reasonable BUT I KNOW IT WAS HER OPINION AND I ONLY SAW ONE SIDE”

It shouldn’t have surprised me that people still downvote me, call me names, and have extreme reactions. I’ve really been hoping that lemmy comments aren’t as toxic as reddit, but here we are.
