I think they researched this and found that literally no creature completely rely on mosquitos, and that if they were wiped out the power vaccum would be replaced by other small flying insects that are within the diets of the creatures that would otherwise eat mosquitoes. So yeah, there really isn’t anything stopping us from wiping them out. I say do it, and just keep some in a lab just in case if fucks stuff up. Or maybe more reasonably just modify them so they can’t suck human blood or pierce human skin, which I’m pretty sure we’re also already capable of.
As someone who used to be in those circles, it wasn’t always like that but quickly devolved into it. And I went along with it not even really because I believed everything that was there but because that was where all my friends were, and I tried questioning some of the principles but was then met with cold responses like “why are you questioning us?” And so I kind of just went along with everything. It took me a long time to get de-radicalized, but it’s something to keep in mind that a lot of what keeps communities bound like that has nothing to do with the politics and everything to do with maintaining social connections. Which isn’t to excuse any of it, but just provide a succinct explanation for how and why they proliferate.
I agree, but my main point is that when I went to vote it took me 11 minutes. 11 minutes to but my voice in the election. And that does not have to be mutually exclusive with political action, I have been involved in action groups (though not as of lately due to me focusing on my studies, but if a Palestine protest starts on my campus you can bet I’ll be joining it), and I’m not making the argument that voting is all you should do. Far from it. But, it is something that is quick and easy to do and if enough people do it, it could prevent a fascist government that makes change far more difficult than it is now.
