me? im just a noob. You’re the real hero
idk ive seen some crazy complicated stuff woven together by people who cant code. I’ve got a friend who has no job and is trying to make a living off coding while, for 15+ years being totally unable to learn coding. Some of the things they make are surprisingly complex. Tho also, and the person mentioned here may do similarly, they don’t ONLY use ai. They use Github alot too. They make nearly nothing themself, but go thru github and basically combine large chunks of code others have made with ai generated code. Somehow they do it well enough to have done things with servers, cryptocurrency, etc… all the while not knowing any coding language.
Hilarious and true.
last week some new up and coming coder was showing me their tons and tons of sites made with the help of chatGPT. They all look great on the front end. So I tried to use one. Error. Tried to use another. Error. Mentioned the errors and they brushed it off. I am 99% sure they do not have the coding experience to fix the errors. I politely disconnected from them at that point.
What’s worse is when a noncoder asks me, a coder, to look over and fix their ai generated code. My response is “no, but if you set aside an hour I will teach you how HTML works so you can fix it yourself.” Never has one of these kids asking ai to code things accepted which, to me, means they aren’t worth my time. Don’t let them use you like that. You aren’t another tool they can combine with ai to generate things correctly without having to learn things themselves.
Soon will be able to ask the ai to replace our hearts with 3d printed custom fifteen valve versions with multiple different modes all controllable thru a bluetooth connection to a phone app which google will monopolize then uncaringly make obsolete in their yearly nonbackwards compatible android update that destroys over 26,000 apps people worked hard on and put effort in to.
It’s weird but I actually don’t consider people fulfilling normal everyday professions as heroes. It may be because I played heroes of might and magic 3 as a kid and my concept of ‘hero’ has connotations of someone being extraordinary.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, since those kids are apparently destined to be workers according to james, idolizing normal jobs is ummm ok. But it’s sort of like taking kids who specifically want to be extroardinary and telling them “no. u will be a brick in the wall.”
When I think hero i think Guru Aurobindo, Feynman, Mai Bhago, StBridgid, Barry the Dog, neem karoli baba, ben franklin, selassie, carl sagan, etc etc etc.
So haha BUT when a kid wants to be extraordinary and above the norm, the correct answer is to empower them upward to reach what heights they can; not pull them down.
Which is why you would not be able to do what I’m doing.
Using AI Art, i do not need to already be that profitable studio like you would. My 400 current cards are basically beyond what you could do. I could up the number to 4000 without it costing me a cent.
This is exactly my point. I can, because of no paywall, create what I want.
When I was making an android game I wanted to make art so i made an ai art gen on Perchance. OP would hate it most of all since a large part of it is the combining of different artist styles. I personally love being able to combine my 5 fav artists and see what prompts become with them combined.
I recently realized the artist Hannah Yata results in cool trippy pics. I then went to her site and yeah her pics are really like that. She’s one of maybe 8 artists I’ve recently found a special connection to that I would not have known about otherwise.
so yeah ai art may be bad for struggling professional artists but for people that are not big money game studios yet, ai art basically allows having nonstockimage art in projects legally. I can 100% say ai art empowers me to have visuals where I could not have before unless i used stock(gross) images or had starting wealth to pay artists. So if you focus on artists losing, also focus on the poor but smart kid in some poverty place who is now that much more empowered to make something on their phone and legitly escape poverty.
There was a wealth barrier to visual art; now there isn’t.
Entrenched struggling professional artists cry. People needing art that weren’t wealthy enough to pay for it win.
When drugs become fabricateable at home by anyone, drug companies will also cry. People that weren’t wealthy enough to pay for them win.
Same thing.
Poor artists.
But when you’re the one no longer paywalled it’s a different story.
