ok, I finally figured out my view on this I believe. I was worried I was being a grumpy old man who was just yelling at the AI (still probably am, but at least I can articulate why I feel this is a negative reply to my concerns)

I personally don’t believe asking an AI with a prompt then “troubleshooting” it is the best educational tool for the masses to be promoted to each-other. It works for some individuals, but as you can see the results will always vary with time.

There are so many promotional and awesome educational tools that emphasize the “doing” part instead of reading. You don’t need to ask an AI prompt then try to fix all the horrible shit when there is always a statistically likely chance you will never be able to solve it and the AI gave you an impossible answer to fix.

I get some people do it, some people succeed, and some people are maybe so lonely that this interaction is actually preferable since it seems like some weird sort of collaboration. The reality is that the AI was trained unethically and has so many moral and ethical repercussions that just finding a decent educator or forum/discord to actually engage with is whole magnitudes better for society and your own mental processes.

I question that because I remembered reading articles that had discussions with the photographer from the before times. Alas, the internet is dead and every search result for Eugeny Hramenkov is either copy/pasted AI mouth gargle or articles talking about how “Elon Musk used the meme!!” (fucking christ I wouldn’t put it past the dude that all these sites are his own promotional shit). It’s so completely sad to have had the internet information age for just a small hopeful glimpse before it all came completely crumbling down.

Ahh, I believe we just have a different perspective on what the best outcome for the lemmyverse is. If this place was as popular as Reddit I would want to see hundreds of communities for a subject and not have one that has a majority of users. You can have a main link one like r/science I guess that has super strict posting/commenting regulations and discussions get branched off into subcommunities maybe.

Honestly, even .ml feels too big for me atm and I’m thinking of switching out soon. I believe, if you actually use this site to engage in conversation and read through the links/articles people post, that you really only have time for a few interactions. If you’re just doom scrolling and voting away I guess I would want something like Reddit but I’m already neglecting conversations I want to have on here because there’s so many people and things to talk about all the time (and memes, can’t forget them).

Like, I get it. When you break it down, what’s the difference between reddit and Lemmy? You don’t like c/Games@lemmy.world, you can make c/Games@sh.itdoesnt.work. On reddit if you don’t like r/games, you can make r/games! or some other bullshit.

Only 2 big differences for me is 1. the hope that just having different instances gets people away from the “Main Hub” communities, 2. multiple instances means less chance of corporation enshittification. Your solution would just promote the eventual lose of both of the reasons I’m on Lemmy to begin with.

I do heavily encourage cross-posting though. Would love some sort of “tag” or something where it’s easier to cross-post to all of the communities that opt-in to be tagged in that category. Could have it so you can filter multi-posts using this feature so you’re not blanketed with the post if you’re subscribed to multiple communities in that category (could even choose a default like only the one with the most comments or your most active community gets highlighted while blocking all the rest, while still having the links in the post like how crosspost currently displays).

I swear I need to make a log or something at this point for when this inevitably gets brought up so I can just paste links. I frequent any community and respectfully disagree all the time. I have one moderation from when I first started and didn’t “respectfully” comment (making pooh jokes, I wasn’t trying to engage seriously in a discussion and back the mod action).

The whole system gets even worse when you look at it. They prop it up as an “education lottery”, “This will help finance our schools!” In reality, they supplement education funding. I.E. they remove 2mil from state funding and put 2 mil in from the jackpot. They will continue lowering educational spending and use the assets in other areas they want.

non-instructional support personnel, you know the over inflated administration that plagues education, now being supported by a lottery. Like most legislation, it started as something grand but slowly got mutilated till it’s a net-negative effect.

Definitely agree and not trying to promote clergy mentality lol. I wasn’t saying it was correct or demeaning, just gave me a side step because we’re talking about a young boy and losing his virginity. I think sex work should be legalized across the board, but I doubt you would find many people that would encourage it to be available for a 15 year old or that it should be everyone’s first sexual experience. There’s a lot of mental and developmental problems that can come from sex being viewed as a transaction if the proper level of maturity isn’t there.

Am male, stupidly so and grew up in the south where an active sex life as a youthful-lad was encouraged and I definitely filled that role. I concur that what you’ve said is the most common perception in our circles and definitely in western media as a whole. After getting older and actually talking to people about their childhoods and those from other areas of the world, I don’t believe it to be a “destined/hormone raging” outcome that’s necessary, but often taught/learned from peers.

If it was, we wouldn’t be encouraging male individuals to find an outlet for their anger besides violence. You’re also completely scapegoating like females don’t have urges or hormones of which they have to battle with. There’s whole societies out there that don’t have the problems we run into because of our views on sexuality (but come with their own side effects like loneliness or low birth rates). It’s also individualistic, everyone has different things they’re dealing with on puberty and chemical changes. The fact that all males get the “it’s hormones” excuse should be a red flag automatically that triggers further evaluation.

I think it has some merit. Though I didn’t actually pick up on the gender of the prostitute (I guess we’re all assuming). It still breaks the importance of the emotional connection to a sexual partner as you’re learning about early adulthood. I don’t think real harm came to the boy in this instance particularly, but I couldn’t imagine being that sex worker. I would do it, but shit, that’s gotta follow you a little bit your entire life and something you would always think about. Probably would be my last “John” to be honest.

The other harm comes from people reading the article, especially young boys. It encourages the mindset that the sex act is the important thing one must conquer, not opening up and being vulnerable to a partner to share that experience with. It’s super fucking tough though, like finding him just a date would be better but all the implications of what that would entail for the people involved is just heartbreaking.

Do you really love or have any feeling towards your instance? I think of it more like an e-mail address than a “name” for like an apartment building or mascots/team name (probably why these posts confuse the shit out of me). My first instance had connection issues/downtime so I switched to .ml. Almost switched from them like a month ago because of slow loading times but seems to be better the past couple of weeks (this is the basics of html, I shouldn’t have to “watch” it load).

Yeah all of the lower end jobs are like this unfortunately, anything that gets pasted more than 3 times a year on indeed or any job site. Middle/management side it’s like that but with 3-6 interviews instead and no guarantee of a job. Trade jobs seem to be the outlier, but harder to actually find who all is looking and for them to “legitimately” (insurance/taxes) employ you. High end is 80% networking so a lot of the ground work is already done (but still a total time/energy sink that I can’t be bothered for).

2nd, the pizza was cut previously from the incident as indicated by the cut marks of the classic “8 slice-large”. These cuts have been covered where the cheese has been squashed from the smushing After cutting. (sorry @anothercatgirl@lemmy.blahaj.zone) Also, the ovens are designed to only allow a particular height through, bottles on top of a pizza wouldn’t even make it in and the smell would be atrocious.

C, the standard thin crust from PJ’s comes only with special seasoning (a small paper packet of seasoning) and some pepperoncini peppers, it does not contain the round garlic sauce containers. If it had, the marks would start round and end round. (sorry again @Ghyste@sh.itjust.works)

Two likely culprits in my book, one would be the oven attendants personal bottle. On busy days you have seconds to cut, package, and add all the sides (wings are the worse with extra sauce on them and extra side sauce you always run out of). Damaging a pizza can be a daily occurrence. Lastly, probably a sauce bottle itself. There are several of such size and design for the garlic Parmesan, buffalo, bbq, etc. Whole container full of bottles you usually hand off to someone helping you catch up and probably dropped it into the open box after cutting and before putting on the heating rack.

The reality, this was probably a bad pizza set off to the side on the heat rack. There are no sides present and typically you’ll see a wet residue from the peppers once they’re placed in the box (you don’t put sides in a bad pizza/one being remade). The slice stolen was probably a co-worker grabbing a slice during working hours and another co-worker took the rest home. Probably thought it was funny and snapped a photo for the sharing feels.

There is also the syntax format you can manually do which you can find in the formatting help link. an ! with [] then (url) no spaces (hard to show without the format wanting to change it).

edit: I believe the proper use of “upload image” is if you want to share an image from your device which it uploads onto the lemmy server space, using the url to link to another website also works but there is always the problem of size/format of the image and if that link becomes broken your image won’t show.
