I’ve owned Macs for years. Yes, it is the second picture, but if you take the shroud off you pretty much do whatever you want. Meaning, I’ve got a proper Unix terminal that I can use to do anything. You can tune to your heart’s content, you just don’t have to.
Compared to my Windows machine, where I just count of doing a fresh install every year or two just to keep it running.
I remember having the light-measured-in-watts discussion years ago when LED lights were still considered a novelty. Of course, this was with a videographer who actually understood the issue. He complained that it wasn’t a good idea to limit car headlights based on their wattage, which is how all the laws at the time were written. 5 years later, suddenly there were LED headlights blinding everyone.
Interesting, because I’ve noticed my meds are less effective since my local pharmacy started having routine prescriptions filled remotely and shipped to them. Wonder if it’s a a temperature in transit issue
